Stranda Snowboards Descender EVO 166 Wide
The new Descender Evolution is maxed out on response and stiffness—a 9/10 on the flex rating—targeting pro riders and experts. An evolution of our original Descender with new materials for ultra-fast performance. For the first time in a snowboard, we’re incorporating vibration-reducing D3O technology in the nose for a truly planted ride at any speed. D3O, a non-Newtonian material used in protective gear, firms up the nose when stressed by impacts. By applying it solely to the center of the nose, we maintain optimal torsion for precise turn-in while enhancing stability. This board has no speed limit and is aiming for best in class performance.

BOTTOM SHAPE
The Descender Evolution has an unique parabolic 5 mm camber – lifted under rear foot for extra pop and ollie power – with low tip- and tail-rocker.
CORE
For the Descender Evolution we use a mix of paulownia with poplar and ash stringers. Ash is perfect for building high-performance snowboards as it dampens vibrations and holds its camber, extending the life of your board. Adding poplar and paulownia keeps the weight down. Choosing a premium material also allowed us to reduce the use of petroleum-based composites.
